Employer Research
Gather as much information as possible about potential employers. This will help you in the interview process.
Role-playing
By yourself or with a friend, run through the questions that may be asked of you in an interview, including those sensitive areas that you hope you will not be asked. This will give you that extra bit of confidence that comes from knowing you are prepared.
Dress for Success
Dress conservatively - skirts and suits are best for professional, office, sales, public contact and customer service positions. Avoid too much or too flashy jewelery. Keep it simple. Clothing and accessories do not have to be expensive to make a good impression, but they should always be in good taste and clean.
Remember to:
- Smile
- Be ready to shake hands
- Maintain eye contact
- Stand tall
- Listen
- Be attentive to everyone's body language
- Be pleasant to everyone you meet while at the company
